How to install 2009-2013 Toyota Prius Radio navigation system with IPOD aux

So far the Toyota Prius was one of the most widely sold hybrid vehicles on the market. The original Toyota Prius Radio is low-grade. When you find the need to install a new aftermarket unit instead of your factory stereo, you can trust the replacement duties to an audio technician at an aftermarket retailer or you can swap the old stereo for a new one yourself and save the cost of labor. If your car have the same dashboard with this car, you can follow the instructions bellow.

Tools you’ll need

1)Trim panel removal tool

2)Phillips-head screwdriver

3)Flat screwdriver

4)10-millimeter socket wrench

5)Wiring harness adapter

6)Faceplate adapter

1)Remove the shift panel right of the steering wheel. The panel simply pulls free of the dash with medium force from a trim pry tool.

2)Remove the dash panel below the stereo. Grab the panel by the right edge and pull with significant force to detach the plastic pin that holds the panel in place. Grab the bottom edge of the panel and pull it from the dash.

3)Remove the vent panel to the right of the stereo as you did the left panel. It is only connected with clips that can be pulled free with moderate force.

4)Disconnect the wiring.

5) Remove the stereo by removing the four screws near the corners of the stereo mounting bracket with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

6) Pull the radio toward you slowly.

7)Pull the stereo from its dock and pull the wire groups from the back of the stereo. Grab the groups by the white plastic wire binders, not the wires themselves.

8)Make antennas and cables connected step by step as installation instructions show,and you should be very careful when you are doing this for it will affect whole procedure.

9)Connect the wiring between the new radio and your Toyota Prius. Check whether your connections are correct, the new unit is in right position,and you’d better have a tidy for the cables.

10)Firm four removed screws that are put aside,then make trim panel back on your new unit.
